Question: How long does the stickperson usually stay at the table before he/she is relieved?
I ask because I once rolled the dice through 3 stickperson changes and when the
the 4th guy showed up the stickperson refused to switch until I was done.
I gotta say, it was a fun day at the casino
Thanks
Thanks for your question!
The length of time a stickperson stays in their position can vary from casino to casino depending on how they run their dealer rotations. Typically, with a four-dealer craps crew, most casinos will have their stickperson change every 20 minutes, but potentially it could be up to an hour (although that is extremely uncommon).
There are occasions when the casino may need to make an unscheduled switch (this could happen on any game), and this could be for many reasons. It could be that a dealer is going home early, needs to switch games, or has to use the restroom, among other possibilities.
I don't personally recall a time when a stickperson declined or was permitted to decline to switch positions when a switch was due, but ultimately as long as each dealer gets their breaks on time and the casino is okay with it, it all works out.
Either way, it sounds like you had a great roll! I hope you made lots of money and had lots of fun!
